Although the linked study used the oil, I would not recommend doing so, as it can accelerate the growth of cancer cells. I use ground flax seeds, which have anti-cancer compounds that prevent that effect. A tablespoon of packed, ground flax seeds has about 4.34 grams of oil, more than that found effective in this study by almost a factor of two. That's what I've been putting in my cereal every morning for years, and it must be working, because in spite of a mild case of cystic fibrosis, which causes severe inflammation of the bronchial tubes, I'm doing pretty good. Much better I should add, since I finally got connected with a CF clinic 1.5 yrs ago. I went 13.5 years with severe bronchitis, basically untreated. That did the damage, which has now been arrested. Perhaps the flax helped during those bad years.
