The
SNAK Posse is at it again, saving younsters of the world from the
evils of junk food and cigarettes, while promoting healthful eating.
In the comic book-syle "Race
Against Junk Food" (ages 4 to 9), the young Posse helps Tommy
Thompson and his family kick the fast-food habit and tune in to
the benefits of fruits and vegetables.
In "SNAK Posse" (for older
kids), the Posse -- vegi-people Flash Carotene (carrot), Blush (tomato),
Kernal (corn), Silk Stalk (broccoli) and Banana Bolt -- are adult
superhereos who race against time to save the world's teens from
evil. SNAK is an acronym for Super Nutritionally Active Kids.
The Snak Posse comics are an excellent
vehicle oringally designed to help kids want to eat healthy foods.
And -- they work! If your kids are accustomed to scarfing
down burgers and shakes...and don't realize there's much better
foods to eat, and what the reasons are to eat them, this book is
a great way to get them thinking. Says one parent who bought
the book hoping their little one would see some light in terms of
better eating: "Never in my wildest dreams did I think my seven-year-old
would really take it on for himself to eat healthy -- yet this is
exactly what happened after reading your book several times!
As far as I am concerned, my husband and I owe you a big thank you!"
So, if you're a parent who is trying
to teach your children why cookies and pudding do not make a wonderful
meal, the SNAK Posse books can do it better than you can.
These books teach good nutrition through entertainment. The
"Race Against Junk Food" features a race through a wall
of hamburgers. You get the idea. Lighten up and your
kids just might reach for the broccoli.
