How does it taste? In one word: Sublime. Without hesitation, I can honestly say that this is the most delicious ice cream I've ever tasted in my life. I'll even go so far as to say that Purely Decadent made with coconut milk is as creamy and as satisfying as gelato. It comes in five sensuously rich flavors: Chocolate, Vanilla Bean, Mint Chip, Cookie Dough, and straight Coconut, which makes a mean Piña Colada Shake (see recipe below).
Chocolate: WOW! It's the creamiest, most chocolatey ice cream on Earth!
Vanilla Bean: Probably my least favorite flavor, the play of coconut and vanilla dancing together on my tongue was at first, a bit confounding. Is it vanilla? Is it coconut? My brain couldn't decide. But this flavor grew on me with each spoonful, and I've discovered that it's the perfect ice cream for a sundae, or just slathering with a bit of dark chocolate syrup and a dollop of Soyatoo whipped topping.
Mint Chip: Ripples of deep, dark chocolate lace their way through cool and refreshing mint flavored ice cream. I was immediately hooked on this cool and refreshing flavor.
Cookie Dough: This flavor took me by surprise. I really thought it all sounded like a bit much: Vanilla flavored coconut milk ice cream, cookie dough chunks, and dark chocolate flakes ... But my taste buds were not overloaded, they were overjoyed! This is a knock-out flavor. And like all five coconut milk-based flavors, it's agave sweetened and gluten free.
Coconut: Glorious memories of luxuriating over a fresh coconut frozen dessert in Hawaii came flooding back to me with each spoonful of this decadent treat. For diehard coconut fans, with its abundance of coconut flakes speckled through pure coconut ice cream, this is truly a taste of heaven.
