George & Stacy:
A VegSource Love Story

George (aka "Me") and Stacy (aka "MNAmoeba) met on the VegSource singles board last year. After a series of on-line flirtations, they determined to meet in person. WHAMMO. The chemistry between them was instant, and powerful.

Their engagement was a source of much joy on VegSource, as many loved the idea of the liberal vegetarian Democrat (Stacy) joining hands with the meat-eating Republican (George). They are our very own Carville and Matalin!

The two lovebirds were married December 30, 2000 at the home of George's parents in Arkansas, on the first anniversary of their first "face-to-face" meeting. It was a small ceremony, with just a few family and friends - George's sister Michelle was the maid of honor, and his friend and colleague Randal was the best man.

Despite bad weather and travel delays, they made it to Arkansas on December 29, in time to get the marriage license before the county clerk closed!

The ceremony was simple and brief, and was followed by cake and champagne.

They celebrated at an Italian restaraunt in North Little Rock, one of the few places in the area that serves more than salads or sandwiches for vegetarians, and was also able to satisfy the non-vegetarians.

Congratulations to George and Stacy, and best wishes for many happy years together!
