We found a baby field mouse too. I'm a pet lover and REFUSE to let him back out. We are feeding him formula and have him in a tank we also have a heater to keep him warm. I would also like to say that you are wrong field mice can be tamed and kept as pets. We are taming ours and he eats formila milk right now. I won't put the little mouse back, so I was wondering if you have any tips on how to take care of a field mouse-besides to let it go after a little while.
