I hope someone can help me with this. I was driving and I saw a male and female mallard. The female is dead. It's my understanding that Mallards mate for life. At any rate, the male has not left her side. I thought that if I remove the female carcass,it will force him to move on. But I'm not sure and I don't want to cause him any more stress then he has already been thru. Does anyone know the answer??
