I am concerned whether or not ducks always fight new ducks brought to their area? I just rescued a mallard and relocated him to a new pond that already had a few ducks (and an alligator, yes.... I live in Florida!) and the reception my duck got was hostile and now my duck won't go back into the water, but is hiding out under a car in the adjacent parking area for a local business. I notified owner of car to check for duck before she leaves work. But now I worry that I should have tried to recapture this duck and take him elsewhere. Although there aren't many places nearby that are "duck-worthy". I did try to get the duck out from under car for quite a while...to no avail. I at least feel good about one thing, the place where this duck used to be had become very unsafe (predators) and 5 of his buddies have recently been killed. So, I did save his life, but did I bring him to the fire from the frying pan????? HELP!
