Well im a new buyer of betta fish..but i would like to say that they dont live at the top of the water they come up for little oxygen..they only come up to make bubbles..also known as a bubble nest..they use that to make the female bettas come and then he does a trible dance around her and they make babies...they dont just float...they go and take a breath and then go under....if anymore questions or just to talk...email me back!! thanks
