A robin nestling fell out of the tree in a storm and broke his leg. I've had really great success feeding and treating him. Understand, though, that it is NOT an exageration that you MUST feed him every 15 min - 60 min from dawn to dusk. He will cry every 15-60 minutes ALL day to be fed. I started out feeding him cat food with a chopstick. Not too easy. When he first saw the choptick coming toward him, he opened his mouth and started squaking. I just put the chopstick into his mouth, and he ate. When he fledged out, I switched him to earthworms. I held him a lot, petted him, and talked to him. If I intended to send him back to the wild, I would not have done this. Since he broke his leg in three places during his fall, he won't be able to live in the wild.

You don't feed water, because they get all of their water from their food. When they are old enough to take water on their own, and take it when it is given, that is when they need it.

I also used a shoe box. I used a disposable diaper, folded it into a nest, and he slept there. Please do a search online, there is so much information about how to care for a baby robin, and even more importantly, WHETHER you should care for a baby robin. All robins leave the nest before they can fly, and the parents care for them on the ground. Taking them in just may reduce their chances of survival even more than if you left them for the parents to take care of.
