Subject:	My Beta has a weird sack thing

I got a Beta recently and it was at first pretty active. Now it mainly just sits by the surface hiding in his plant. I changed his water tonight and when I was finished I noticed a weird seed like sack thing hanging from under his gills (where his neck would be if he had one.) Does anyone know what this might be?
