To see if they are 2 males, firstly, if they puff up and "flare" at each the mirrow, they are males. Wit hthe "eggs", males ( young or excited bettas most often) have a tendency to create what betta lovers call a "bubblenest". This is where the fertilized eggs would be held untill growth. Unless the 2 bettas are with each other, they cannot reproduce with themselves. It isn't a disease. Nothing to worry about. Bettas also have good memory so treat them with care and respect. Don't force them to eat; they may need to get accustomed to your water(75F-82F) or are still stressed out.
