is your betta a male or female? the way to tell is that males have very flashy fins, usually long. if you bought it in a pet store, it is most likely a male. females have shorter find and are rather dull in color whilst the males are bright and flashy. Males tend to create "nests" now and then, they are clearish bubbles that stick together floating up near the top of the cage. he will do this even though a female is not present. females wouldnt lay eggs unless you have a female and a male betta which is unlikely for you to not have noticed. :) hope everything's okay!
