Subject:         Betta help

My daughter recieved 2 bettas as a gift...they are in a dual bowl. I was under the impression they were both males. Last night one of them began to "lay eggs"...or that is what it looks like to me! Small white round...eggs? I am not sure what to do...could this be an illness? He/She has been such a happy healthy fish...very active and always eats a bit more than the other. Please advise on what I should do.
