I found that 85-87 is perfect for my little guy. He makes bubbles and swims around and around. When it gets cooler at night, I wrap his plastic home in an electric heating pad on low, and the temp never goes beyond 85 degrees. He's happy as a lark. Before I found this solution when the temps dropped at night, he just hovered near the light coming from the table lamp shining overhead and never moved an inch nor did he create a bubble nest. I believe he was cold--he likes it warm.
