Mickey was getting so much medication and we were still treating his ears, that I was completely lost not having that to do. An "empty" feeling. I know it sounds strange but I know exactly what you're saying. I haven't been able to put his medicines and all the equipment away yet. I was lucky in that Mickey slept most of the time and usually under a blankie so I don't think the pugs really noticed anything until bed time. The first night was horrible, no one would settle down, especially Toby. Toby would sleep spooned around Mickey at the foot of the bed. I swear he was up and down all night wandering thru the house. Everyone is still trying to adjust for bed time. I'm really missing him today because I'm going to my parents tomorrow and Mickey always went with me. This will be my first trip in 15 yrs without him. Thank goodness I have Nabisco to go along and keep me company but it will be a long 3 hr drive.
