whole different ballgame. The ProHeart is NOT a vaccine -- it's a long acting pesticide that takes 6 months to breakdown and leave the body. Whole different concept.

The better prevention, like Interceptor, helps prevent hooks, whips and other parasites, NOT JUST heartworm.

I lost a dog to parasites, Mags -- and I've got a whole different mindset on it -- vaccines=no way. Heartworm prevention, yes. And I'd be willing to bet your statistics are pretty outdated unfortunately. Heartworm is almost everywhere now, thanks to longdistance refrigerated hauling.

Eaten oranges from Florida, bananas from Puerto Rico or Pineapple from california lately? Trust me -- that's how mosquitos travel too. And the two mosquito theory is not really valid either. Soon as they are bitten there are microfilaria in the bloodstream -- there to multiply.
