First -- I must make it clear that Dr. Stanley Coren does NOT frequent this board -- many years ago he had some input but he is not affiliated with the board and hasn't been for many years. (I'm the Moderator, I'm not just blowing you off.)

In honesty you **Must** do the special eye drops (which are pricey) -- but continue with the vet. Glaucoma can be extremely painful -- I use a LOT of alternative medicne, but truly this is NOT something I would try to overcome with scent if this dog is in THIS MUCH PAIN.

Burying its head into a cushion? This dog is in pain and honestly even pressure drops like Dorzolamide or similar may not be adequate for this type of glaucoma. Pressure drops will only reduce the pressure by a few degrees (I have an 8 year old dog who had hyper mature cataracts removed -- he is EXTREMELY high risk for glaucoma and is still on three different drops/ointments twice daily so I'm no stranger to this sort of stuff).

Honestly this dog is iN PAIN. Please -- go back to the vet and let the vet advise you on what needs to be done. Truly - there are times with glaucoma when the eyes can't be saved ... and dogs DO adapt (they are far more scent oriented than visually oriented).

But your dog is showing classic signs of pain --please don't just allow this to continue. VET--- RIGHT AWAY.
