OH NO NO NO!! This guy sucks! Do not listen to him and get rid of him!! I work in a known pet store, and that is NOT the way to treat a dog. If you hit an abused dog, soon the dog will be scared whenever you move your arms. And even may bite your hand in fear! My dog was a rescued dog who was in a puppy mill since she was born until she was rescued 7 months later. She is also afraid of taking walks or going anywhere outside the house. She is so sweet and I take care of her Like she's my daughter. You have to be patient and kind. Dogs may not be people, but to me, they are like having children. Would you want someone shoving your kid into a time out space or their bedroom? Would you want someone smacking your kid if they did something wrong?? IMO, this guy should be banned from going anywhere near an animal! He is a disgrace!! I really Hope you go to someone else. A real trainer will train only positive, will be patient and kind with the dog, will never EVER put their hands on the dog in any sort of negative way! Could you do me a favor? And give me this "trainers" contact info? I won't mention you, but I want to give him a piece of my mind. And I'd like to look up his info.
