I acquired an eighteen-month old female German shepherd in June involving a flight from Kelowna to Toronto followed by a six-hour vehicle trip to her new home in the New Liskeard area. She had a litter of puppies at sixteen months and I now have had her spayed. She was very subdued almost cowed to begin with but she has bonded well with me, maybe too well. She is generally obedient, is loving, excellent on her "Comes", "Sits", "Heels" etc., loves playing with her ball and frizby, is a great jumper. I try to give her challenging and strenuous play to engage her mind and she responds well BUT she barks and is totally out of control when someone comes to the door, comes into my home or walks by my window. She is causing a problem with my landlord who insists she must be leashed or muzzled [I live in a rural setting]. How do I gain control of her in this situation. In all other cases she is very obedient and a lovable companion. Thank you for your help
