A little update, Callie's been helping me with food stuffs. So hopefully I will figure something out. I also talked to someone in a reputable pet grocery store in the area. Of course, they are going to be interested in selling me the food they have to a degree, but the lady was actually pretty helpful telling me how I could "cut" the packaged kibble with fresh foods (such as fresh meat, oatmeal, and rice). She said the food I bought was a lot richer than what I've been feeding and I could actually feed them a little less of it and cut it with veggies to reduce the calories (since my dogs are chubby and not very active).
I might actually do that, buy a "better" dog food and cook a little to supplement it--or stretch it out.
But I'll see how it goes. It all boils down to what I can budget and what can I afford.
Callie has my e-mail address and I told her she can give it to you ladies :). I will tell you more of the story behind all this if you like, but I really don't want to air my personal business on the forums too much.
