Yes, sigh, it was a reputable group. I don't know if they fully know the situation or not. The foster lady had 13 dogs, most of them apparently hers. All in crates, in or outside. I was amazed after driving 7 hours to see her casually let them all out, they bolted for the back door like that seen from Christmas Story with the Bumpous dogs. As they flew out paws flying they jumped up with their front feet on counters, kitchen table etc.
I'd been communicating with this lady about this dog for 2 months. But I never thought to ask her was she socializing him to family life and teaching him basic manners. But at that point I had already rented a car and drove 7 hours and of course had a 7 hour drive home. And then he leaned on me so of course that was it--had to take him home then.
I can do the rubber ball in the food. Should I put something in the water? Cause he sticks almost his whole snout in their and gulps for all he's worth too.
I emailed her. She told me he walked ok on a leash. I asked her if she dreamed it. My arms are two feet longer and I have blisters. He's a big boy--a belgian malinous. I have a 9 yr old one already. Thought it would be a good time to get younger one :(
She said he knew to sit at the door. Umm yeah, about that. He does know the command sit. But I sure wouldn't say he knew to sit at the door. He can sit, if you make him, and you better have good hold of that leash when you do cause he can barely hold it--and then he wants to barrel over everybody out the door.
She was like I needed to teach him commands, barriers, be the boss. Well yeah, sure. I watch Dog Whisper too. I just expected she would be working on the basics while she had him.
His ribs are showing--prominately. She's like well he's a working dog and he's supposed to be trim. Besides he lost a little playing over the summer. She didn't notice. Ok, it's Oct. now, you didn't notice?
In one way I hate to rat on this lady. I've been talking to her for 2 and a half months. She's sort of my, I don't know, life line to this dog. But in another way I'm like, this is crazy.
