Tuesday we drove 14 miles to pick up a rescued dog, one I had been communicating about for a couple of months with the rescue foster Mom. I was kinda surprised to find out that he is crate trained but not housebroken. I emailed her and she said yes, prior to her he was in a kennel, and she kept him in a crate except for letting him outside to play. Of course this creates all sorts of issues. I can't open the back door without him wanting to barrel over me to get out. We are watching him like a hawk, (relaxing less of course than we would like to with him) and letting him have lots of potty times. I guess I just feel like that was a dissservice to him. Seems like if a foster family has the dog for several months, shouldn't they be working on teaching them how to be good family members? Oh, his ribs are showing, quite a bit. He acts like he hasn't seen food or water in abundance but ought to gulp it all down as fast as he can as he may not see it again for awhile. Thanks for your imput. Cindi
