Dr Coren needs an intelligence test! Basenjis are "stupid"!!!!!!! I do not think so!!!!!! He classifies intelligence on how "quickly" a dog learns a specific set of behaviors. Basenjis are not easily "trainable" because they need to comprehend the "reason" for a specific behavior. In other words they need to "think it through".
After all they are one of the true indiginous breeds having been around for over 3000 years. If a dog can survive and thrive for 3000 years, virtually unchanged then I think that shows some type of intelligence!!!!!
Maybe Coren needs to spend some time with a Basenji.
