Subject:         mastitis

Hey there! just appeared out of the blue a little while ago and now am seeking advice for a friend whose dog had pups 3 weeks ago - sounds like she has mastitis - didn't want to feed the pups though is engorged and uncomfortable. I visited them yesterday and all was wonderful!
My friend called earlier and I suggested a warm compress which worked as Daisy then fed the pups but it hasn't healed the initial problem! Is this a case for the vet, and antibiotics, or is there a more natural remedy?
