You've given me some great things to check out! I have found a grooming/boarding place about twenty minutes from here that has classes in rally, parlor tricks and dancing! (who knew?!). I am giong to see if I can get into one of the last sessions (I live in the desert and after April, pretty much anything that goes on outdoors just stops until November).

Velma is in basic obedience right now, and she's proving to be both smart and a little bit problematic. Last week when I took her alone (I left Frankie at home because all he does is bump her out of the way to get the treats - it's funny, but not very productive), she got all nervous and anxious. I think in the 3-4 months I've had her, she has really made Frankie and me her pack, and she does NOT like to be away from him. That could be a problem with the new classes, but we'll see.

At the dog park, I'm telling her to go easy when she's playing. She was tumbling around with a buddy of hers who doesn't mind roughhousing yesterday, but when I saw that she was trying to use his hind leg - in her mouth - as a steering wheel, I called her off. Still looking for a local herding place - no luck so far, but maybe further up in the hills. thx again! This board is a great find.
