As a rescue coordinator I appreciate Ellie's reminder about fostering. We are full-up again with over 40 pugs in rescue. I have never seen it this bad.
We just rescued our second liver shunt pug of the month. She is not a year old and was turned over to rescue when her family could no longer afford to care for her. She arrived at our vet's office unresponsive and emaciated. In the items that were dropped off with her was a child's handmade card with Get Well Soon and I love you written on a paper heart. She needed 24 hour care for the first week. She's still very sick but stable enough to go to a foster home, unfortunately one isn't available.
We are having to pay to board several rescued pugs over the holidays.
There is always a need for foster homes with any rescue organization.
And by the way, Happy Holidays to every one. I know I don't get by here too often any more but all of you are in my thoughts.
Rita
