I have to finally differ with you on house training. I'm 67 now and have had 3 dogs (one at time) that lived 'til old age. Each of them was trained to go on newspaper (now puppy pads)when they were in the house. All three had no problems going outside when we were outside. I trained them to "go potty" on the newspaper/pads, then when we were outside, I said the same thing. They soon learned that when I said "go potty" it was okay to do it there. Pretty soon they did it without prompting. Of course they got a happy dance from me each time. They really never got confused.
I'm sorry, this went on longer than I meant.
