Last spring, when she had the bladder infection, he told me I had to switch her to his prescription food because the kind of infection she had wasn't a one time thing, and her kidneys and maybe other organs would be at such a high risk. It was all a huge deal even when I told him how hard sensitive she had always been to diet changes. Then the sensitivity didn't matter and now the bladder infection doesn't matter (I talked about that in asking for the blood test). She was just as young last spring when kidney problems were the emminant danger.
I also just don't like how he does things. He says one thing and does another. And doesn't do what he says he will. It isn't quite bad enough to pull her in the middle of all this (esp since I'd be sticking a pin in the phone book for someone else to go to), but I'm not staying with him.
"GI obstruction, such as intussusception in puppies with parvoviral enteritis, must be excluded prior to initiating metoclopramide therapy." Yikes!!
Maybe I should switch even in the middle of all this. Maybe the TCVM vet would have a recommendation. Or do you have a regular vet because the TCVM vet is too far away or something? Do TCVM vets do routine stuff and surgury too?
I hadn't thought much about dog meds until the last two weeks. But I've spent many years coming to the conclusion that people medicine is often bad for people. Most dr treat the symptom and never even look for the cause, and if you treat the symptom to have to deal with the side effects. And whatever was the cause wasn't dealt with so the next most vulnerable thing starts to show symptoms (eventually).
