He went to a truly wonderful home. He was "chosen" by the older dog in the house. We were at the vet, and there was a family with middle-school-aged kids and an older bluetick coonhound (popular breed here). the bluetick was absolutely taken with Pippin and it seemed to be mutual. The family had recently lost their 17 year old Brittany spaniel to cancer and just gotten to the point of feeling ready to get another dog. The vet spoke glowingly of the family, a home visit was arranged...and the upshot is that Pip is living the life of Riley.
Now I just need to work on getting homes for the two little schnauzer mixes, that I've gotten from a neighbor, who've lived their lives on a six-foot chain. They are sooo sweet. Took a whole half day to housebreak them. Maybe I better take them back to the same vet!
