And angels they are...I will think of that sweet momma dog and her pups, and hope the "committee" is taking good care of them now! and there is certainly going to be a reckoning for that *$*%(# who did that to them! Bless you for helping the two little orphans, and bless that lady, who had the compassion to save them despite all that she was going through herself.

I also struggle sometimes with compassion fatigue, and the sense that I am trying to bail out the Nantahala River with a teaspoon. Sometimes I say, "why me, why do I have to do all this, why can't I go just live a normal oblivious life like other people?", and then...someone like Pippin comes along, and I look down at the soft furry head nestled on my shoulder. Anger at the cruelty blends with just that sense of joy and relief that this little one, at least, is safe.
email me sometime if you need a venting session! sometimes that does help. Sometimes I think if I could just have nine hours' unbroken sleep, I'd be set.
