yeah, and you know, I've had dogs that I immediately knew HAD to have a NEW name because the old one was associated with so much pain. One of my girls came to me from a neighbor of the abusive owner, so we knew the dog's name...and the moment I said it she cringed. so she got a totally new name pronto.
Pippin, of course, got his name because he is such a brave and tough little thing.
