See, ultimately you have to get the dog completely under control BECAUSE he's literally a hazard as he is. You and your sister and brother in law seem to get that.
But "mom" needs to as well -- yes, you put the baby down and DEAL WITH THE DOG because ultimately it's going to make sure the baby stays safe. If you don't, and the dog decides to play keep away with something the baby has and the dog jumps up to 'get' it or play/get with the baby -- mom falls and breaks a hip and the baby gets hurt? Not good. Or any one of 999 other scenarios equally as hazardous.
So yeah, doggie daycare -- and tell THEM not to let the little pistol get away with crap. If he's that 'alpha' at home he will be with others.
