...is worth a pound of cure. First thing you want to do is put things UP where Charlie can't reach them. Frankly, most dogs will do this sort of thing. As puppies, it was how they instigated play with their siblings. How is he when you try to take the object away? Does he growl and guard it? Does he run off with it and try to get you to chase him? Does he understand the commands "leave it" (as in "don't pick that thing up") and "out" (as in "put that thing down immediately")? If not, I'd use this as an opportunity to start teaching him those very useful commands. Audrey
