| Subject: | Older cats & new puppy---HELP ME!!! |
|
Date: | December 10, 2007 at 6:39 pm PST |
I have two cats, one 2&1/2 (Cicero) and one 1&1/2 (Figaro) and I just brought home an 11-week old cocker spaniel puppy (Joey). They do not get along.
Cicero won't come out of hiding (It's been almost a week) and Figaro has attacked Cicero several times, my boyfriend Michael (who also lives here and has since long before we got Figaro) and Joey a few times. Every loud noise or anything startling sends him into a violent frenzy. He has now attacked Michael several times (last year even because we got a Christmas tree) and we are thinking of giving him to a No-Kill Shelter, to see if they can place him somewhere with less surprises/change I guess. He can't take change. Any other options short of Kitty Prozac?
My main concern, though, is Cicero. He is barely eating, barely using the bathroom, and he rarely comes out of the closet. He still craves attention, though, and soaks it up when I go in there and love on him. How can I get him out of there?
Please help me. I want all three of my boys to get along and be happy.
Thanks,
Shanna
