should be your vet. A new animal always should be checked out by your vet, just to get acquainted, check the aniaml over, and talk about wellness maintenance, feeding, etc. A baby - and a six week old pup is definitely an infant - shoudl be seen by your vet ASAP. S/he can talk with you about growth issues, training, feeding, activity levels, etc. Chis are great little animals but have been subjected to some awful kinds of breeding and should be monitored for breed-specific health problems. Where did you get your puppy? is she a resuce? did you get her from a reputable breeder? Did you meet her parents? If she is a pet-shop pup she likely came from a puppy mill. If that's the case, your vet should definitely be given any and all information adn should start regular checkups now; puppy mill pups often have health and growth problems and may have been malnourished as well.

get her checked out, and meantime give her lots of love, start training, and feed a high-quality small-breed puppy food. As she is so young, you should "cook" the kibble in warm water a bit to soften it for her.

Final recommendation: mosey on over to the Canine Club. You'll find lots of warm and welcoming folks who'd love to have you come and post about your baby, post pictures, ask questions, share funny stories, whatever. They are a knowledgable group and lots of fun.
