Subject:	my beta fish won't eat!

Hi, I just got a beta fish a few days ago and he doesn't seem to like his food. I have the betta pellets, and feed him 3-4 pellets 2 times a day. He will try to chew the first pellet, then spit it out and not eat the rest of them. I tried the flakes and he does the same thing. Is this normal or should I try some other food? Thanks!
