If she's always trying to get outside and hide, I'm sorry to say it might be time for her to go.... most cats prefer to hide from their owners when they think they are going to die, and they will refuse food to the point of starvation so they can die. Its sad yes, but maybe your cat is trying to let you know... you dont necissarily have to have her put down, she will choose when she is ready. Once she stops eating I hate to say but thats pretty well it, and all you can do is wait and enjoy the few days you have left with her. Keep her on the i.v dont give up hope just yet. If the vet says up to 2 weeks for it to work, then wait the 2 weeks. If after that, theres still no improvement, then you and your vet can assess her and see if she is in any pain. If she's suffering she may need to be put down. If she continues to eat, then thats great, but dont force her. She knows when its time. The only time I would recommend putting an animal down is if they are in physical pain and are suffering, otherwise I would let nature take its course. I'm very sorry.... I hope you see some improvement in her in the next few days.
