As soon as I get my dog outside she only wants to walk where she wants to go (I make sure I am the alpha so to speak but it begins a tug of war). When I do finally get her going she stops abruptly and either refuses to move any further, pulls in another direction, or sits/lays down. I either have to grab her by the collar or drag her. I have a normal collar on her and do not want to use a choke chain or prong collar. When I bring treats and give them to her for being a "good walker" she does fine. In all other areas she is very obedient and well trained. I generally think the behavior is to get attention but I am not sure. Any suggestions?
