Unfortunetly, you can't always listen to your vet. If you are going to keep the cats inside away from any other cats - then they are fine. Just DO NOT spread the virus. Also, be aware of your cats personalities and moods. If they are noticeably in pain, please do not make them suffer for your own selfishness - then put them to sleep. I have 3 feral kittens, they will be tested soon for the disease. There are sometimes medical miracles, but do not make your pets suffer a horrible life if thats what you see happening. Use your judgement.
