My cat has developed what can best be described as ulcers on his upper front lips just inside the lip.
When you flip the lip inside out, the area is raw and pale. On the outside of the lip it is red and inflamed.
I have tried changing his food and looked for contaminates in the home but cannot find the cause.
He has suffered from this for about four months now.
He is four years old.
I took him to the vet about two months ago and the vet advised that my cat must be licking his lips and irritating them. He said he would have to sedate the cat and administer cordizone shots to the area. However, this may not resolve the issue.
I have never observed my cat licking his lips at all so I am not sure the vet is correct and being that he wants to sedate my cat, I am weary.
Does anyone have any ideas or advice??
