I hope you get your cat back safely.
Fliers are a wonderful way to help get your pet back..
1. I generally recommend that everyone always have a couple good pictures of their pets readily available. Consider having a flier already premade ready to be printed out which will help get the word out faster and increase your chances of being reuited with your pet.
2. All animals should have a collar and tags (safety collar for cats.) You can use a light colored nylon collar and write your phone number on with a sharpie magic marker if you don't have tags made up.
3. Microchip your pet. This can be done at a routine vet visit for 25$ or so and will make it much easier to get your pet back to you if he is captured or turned in to the "pound". Even if your pet is hit by a car, animal control will usually scan the pet anyway and contact you to let you know of its demise.
