Unfortunately, it's very difficult to find homes for adult cats, especially those, like your cats, who are accustomed to each other and should stay together. if you take them to a shelter, it's very likely they will be euthanized. Try an ad in your local paper.

1. Why don't you keep your cats and instead of your DIL and new grandchild visiting you, you go visit them? Wear clean laundered clothes, make sure your car is free of cat hair, etc..

2. Why doesn't yout DIL get allergy shots/medication? These allergies are very well managed these days, good drugs are available (after her pregnancy and any nursing she is doing..)
