Update: I watched the nest from a monitor over night last night and was planning to try to feed the babies this morning, knowing they have had nothing to eat for at least 15 hours! But the mother returned! She has fed them now about every hour for the past three hours. She pops in for about 10 seconds, feeding the babies, and then flits out again. I have no idea where she was all night, but am very thankful to God that she has returned. I just wanted to update the page in case somebody else ends up in my situation. It was helpful for me to know that others have experienced the same anxiety I have over these precious babies. Since they are now in their 9th day of life, I expect them to be leaving the nest within the next week. I just hope Momma keeps feeding them.
