| | Subject: | Newly vegan.... how to explain choices? | |
Date: | April 2, 2008 at 11:08 am PST |
I've been a vegetarian for about 6 months, but in the last 2 of months or so I've decided to go vegan. I'm finding it INCREDIBLY hard to justify my lifestyle to my family and friends. Whenever I hang out with family members act like I'm just trying to be difficult by requesting that they buy vegan foods for family get togethers and by ordering a baked potato and mixed veggies at a restaurant. My friends think I'm going vegan to lose weight and they keep saying things like "you're already too skinny" and trying to get me to eat non-vegan foods. It's soooo frustrating! Does anyone have some helpful advice to help me cope with my unsupportive family and friends???
