it is very true that hypoglycemics can be vegans. people think that you have to have all this protein and such to avoid low blood sugar episodes. The thing is that you do need protein, but you don't have to get it from animal products. You can get it from soy (just make sure it is not genetically engineered)- I like a certain companies energizing soy - personally. You can eat lots of nuts, and fruits... Stay away from processed foods, white flour items- and use whole grains. I have a bit of experience in this department. I have hypoglycemia, I also have 2 young sons with type 1 diabetes and a dad with type 2 diabetes... this is something I share with you out of experience.
