Some vegetables contain phytoestrogens which are said to cause fibroids to grow so when considering a vegan diet be sure to keep that in mind. But from my personal experience changing the way you eat does help to reduce the bulging caused by fibroids. I don't know if it shrinks the fibroids because I haven't had mine re-checked. I have 3 large ones and a combination of diet and exercise is helping. I don't know if I will ever get my flat stomach back without having a hysterectomy though, which is what I am trying to avoid (the hysterectomy).
My mother had fibroids which she got when she was around the age I am now. They recommended a hysterectomy but she didn't get one. She also made no modifications in her diet so for 13 years she walked around looking like she was 6 or 7 months pregnant. Her stomach is flat now. Fibroids do shrink after menopause; but who wants to walk around for 13 years looking like they're 7 months pregnant?
