There is a fair amount of information about menopause and how to adjust to it naturally. You should do some reading and research, one good place is the book Nutritional Healing by James & Phyliss Balch, that book is available for public use at the pharmacy at Fred Meyer where I shop, and for good reason. It is a very comprehensive guide to diet, supplements, and other information and resources on two hundred or so medical conditions, and I have found their advice to be very helpful.

Regarding menopause, basically, if you consume a mostly unprocessed plant-foods diet, you are a long way in passing through menopause without problems. If you have a lower estrogen level to begin with, as vegetarian women generally do, you will not feel the "drop" as significantly as you would with higher levels, as meat-eating women do. There are many things you can do, fiber is very helpful, omega 3's found in flaxseed and leafy greens are helpful, soy is helpful, natural progesterone cream is helpful. And there are also herbal products that can help, such as black cohosh.

So far I am having no difficulties with this phase, I am 50. I have been vegan since 2000, eat a small to moderate amount of mostly low-processed soy (tofu, miso, soymilk), I do use natural progesterone cream and occasionally the herbs. I do not believe I will have difficulty because so far it has been so minimal, sometimes I sweat at night but I have no other symptoms.

I do think you would notice a huge difference with changing your lifestyle to a more plant-based one, try it for a couple of months to see. But first do some reading on the subject.
