Subject:	off menstral cycle

i have had only 2 normal periods after my son was born 9 months ago, was on depo, then the nuvo ring, i have had a period since i stopped the ring which was june is this normal? when its not heavy its like a black, brown goop, then a regular period, then the goop again. whats going on?
