Hmm, that's another thing I'm no good at - seasoning cast iron! I should try again b/c I have a parrot and don't like to cook with my non-stick pans at high temps, esp if the pan isn't full (as would be the case with pancakes).

Which is why I drag all my stuff _outside_ on the porch, to make my too-soft waffles with my nonstick iron .... grumble, grumble! It's summer time, now, maybe I should put my parrot on the porch when I want to make waffles! :)

Now if I could convince dbf that we need another (regular) waffle iron I could try the bean recipe. Sorry that failed for you at a workshop, that had to not have been fun! :/

On a related note, I did recently make my first edible vegan french toast (using the chickpea flour recipe (from PPK, I think)). My bread was too dense, but if it had been lighter bread, it would have been really delicious!
