Well, my hubby offered a suggestion I NEVER would have thought of--rinse the tomato puree off, which I did. I then added a can of drained petite diced tomatoes, a can of black olives diced and some of the juice from the olives as well as a bit more red wine vinager and some toasted pine nuts. It now tastes absolutely wonderful!! I am cooking off a bit of the liquid, and may add some parsley when it has cooled. Wendy
